31 is the new 21

Hey All,

Haven't been posting that many topics, because this blog is broken, I pressed the wrong button awhile back and getting it fixed as we speak. As you can see, my pic and bio are on the bottom of this page as opposed to being on the top right. Today is my birthday- happy about that!

31 is the new 21, or so I think! Before I went to bed last night, I took in the sights and sounds around me, reflecting on lifes journey, which has had many twists and turns, but hey, still alive and kickin'! Saw each and every post from that time to when I awoke to bask in the sun, to get my morning coffee and s'mores pop tarts. I'll take anyone up on their offer for lunch and dinner, haha. Had a little gathering atop the Empire Hotel where I host every Friday this Spring and Summer. Overall, it's like a party on my facebook page!

Speaking of which, please mark your calendars for the big Aries/Taurus, Ronald McDonald House and Children for Hope charities, Red Carpet Runway with various entertainment companies for the celebration. All are welcome to attend!!!

Happy Birthday in advance to you, we all share the same truths and understand the language of love, continue to let it shine bright : )

Thursday, May 13th is the main event at Carnival NYC:

One more thing; support my new designs made just for you!
Info is below. Thank you for your time and see ya soon...

My Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Event

You are cordially invited to my Stellar Event of New York Fashion Week. Going to be running around interviewing people for my Red Carpet Runway.com/Jaizen page, plus producing this special exclusive soirée with the team at our new space, Amnesia, for our A'muse Fashion Show and After-Party.

The new collaboration line from designer Richie Rich and muse, Pamela Anderson debuts February 17, 2010.

Red Carpet and actual fashion show are earlier, but you must be on the list. Many celebrities and major media coverage will be on hand. Many musical performances are taking place. Will post pics and video here on my blog following our event, along with my favorite shows this week...

***And here's how it went down. View pictures below after the video!***

Before our event began, I stopped by a gifting suite to see my friend, Tim Garcia.
Then I needed to relax, relate, release, so I went to see these well-dressed gentlemen who own Nexus Showroom at Townhouse Spa. The staff supplied booze, food, massages and gift bags. Good times...
Ok, onto pics of me walking Pamela, Richie and my partner with Stellar EventsAndretti into our A'muse event...
Let's take a backstage tour... T.O. was in our show, we sipped champagne and talked about his new show...
Socialite Tinsley Mortimer, who had her date, American Idol, Constantine sitting front row, posed for my pic with America's Next Top Model, CariDee English. Way to go girls!

Sending Richie Rich, Pamela Anderson, Amanda Lepore, Terrell Owens, CariDee English, Tinsley Mortimer out on stage at our show after the crowd waited for hours enjoying the open bar and mingling with the fashionable crowd. It was a zooooooo...
Pammy all glittered out in outfit she designed. Richie rollerskating; A'muse is the new Heatherette! This is the only shot taken from backstage pointing towards everyone on our runway...
You can search the web and see our Fashion Week event was the most highly anticipated show. Press from all across the world came to New York to support. Thanks to all of our sponsors, Gotham Lasik Vision, LookBooks.com, Worldwide Maniac, etc. Time for us to celebrate upstairs with Pierre Jouet.
Here's my interview with my friend Rocco from Fashion News Live.

That's all folks, after our show and after-party, we all had our drivers bring us back home or hotel. Till next Fashion Week, be blessed. Oh, below are my favorite shows I attended this season...

And what would Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week be without taking in the very last show, Tommy Hilfiger at the tents with the face of fashion, Anna Wintour. She never ever takes pictures with anyone, but had to throw that charm on her. Haha

Rest In Peace Mr. McQueen

The Fashion World came crashing down when news of design icon,
Alexander McQueen's death was announced. I was about to board
a flight when I found out; thinking of the time when I was in his first
show. This was a man of mystery; his pieces were ominous and
inspiring. I have been a fan for a long time, in search of certain
collections for many years. Now, I will cherish every single one I
come across. Here is the tragic story below...

LONDON (REUTERS).- British fashion designer Alexander
McQueen, whose provocative collections made him a global
star, was found dead at his London home on Thursday in
what media said appeared to be suicide. He was 40.

Nicknamed the "hooligan" of British fashion for his close-
cropped hair, trademark Doc Marten boots and shocking
catwalk collections, McQueen rose from teenage trainee
tailor to runway darling before the age of 30. He had been
expected to unveil his new collection at Paris Fashion Week
in March.

"He was found dead this morning," McQueen's
communications director Samantha Garrett told Reuters
by telephone.

A statement released by his office -- referring to the
designer by his given first name, Lee --read: "On behalf
of Lee McQueen's family, Alexander McQueen today
announces the tragic news that Lee McQueen, the
founder and designer of the Alexander McQueen brand,
has been found dead at his home."

Police said they were not treating his death as suspicious.
The BBC reported that McQueen had announced the death
of his mother on his Twitter site earlier this month.

McQueen's friend, the influential British fashion insider
Isabella Blow who helped his career take flight, took her
own life in 2007 at the age of 48.

"At this stage it is inappropriate to comment on this tragic
news beyond saying that we are devastated and are sharing
a sense of shock and grief with Lee's family," the statement
from McQueen's office said.

HOOLIGAN AT GIVENCHY HELM

Born in a working class area of London, the youngest of
six children, McQueen left school at the age of 16 and
gained an apprenticeship at the traditional Savile Row
tailors Anderson and Sheppard, moving on to neighboring
Gieves and Hawkes.

The former British Designer of the Year winner eventually
gained a masters degree in fashion design from London's
prestigious Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design.

McQueen had an ability to shock and his autumn/winter
1995 collection "Highland Rape" which featured disheveled
looking models in torn clothing was considered a classic
example.

The following year, McQueen was named head designer
at the staid Paris couture house Givenchy. His first
collection for the French atelier was not widely considered
to be a success.

But he went on to establish his own label and become part
of the Gucci stable of brands owned by French retailer and
luxury goods group PPR, drawing in fans, customers and
fame and earning a place at the top table of fashion.

"Alexander McQueen was one of the greatest fashion
designers of his generation," PPR Chief Executive
Francois-Henri Pinault said in a statement. "His
sometimes provocative genius, admired and hailed by
all, was constantly opening up new perspectives."

Vogue editor Alexandra Shulman praised the designer
for his "brilliant imagination."

"At one level he was a master of the fantastic, creating
astounding fashion shows that mixed design, technology
and performance and on another he was a modern day
genius whose gothic aesthetic was adopted by women
the world over," Shulman wrote on the fashion bible's
website.

Supermodel Kate Moss canceled a London appearance
on Thursday evening and sent word in an emailed
statement from her agency Storm that she was "shocked
and devastated at the tragic loss of her dear friend Lee
McQueen."

Chanel designer Karl Lagerfeld told French radio that
McQueen had always flirted with death in his work and
that success and fame were never enough to sustain
happiness.

"In these types of professions (modeling, acting,
fashion design) if you haven't got a strong back and
are not hard-headed you expose yourself to anguish,"
Lagerfeld said.

"He also had a nervous depression which reached its
culminating point with the death of his mother last week."

Choose your side guys: Saints or Colts for Super Bowl LXIV

I am looking forward to seeing this game and will be down there where the weather is warm. Gonna have to go with the underdogs on this one- New Orleans Saints! I usually get it right every year, we'll see what happens. Peyton Manning has way too many endorsements; is it true that him and his wife are getting a divorce? Saw some sneak peeks of the Super Bowl commercials, which are legendary. Also, The Who is performing. Feel free to leave comments, don't be a wallflower. I'm taking bets. Ya gotta be in it to win it... Games takes place at 6:30pm, Sunday, February 7, 2010 at Sun Life Stadium in Miami.

Extraordinary men doing amazing things...

We hosted a benefit for Haiti victims, raising $30,000. This is one of many. I have helped raise money in every way possible. Please find it in your heart to help. Keep February 5th open for another fundraiser with Wyclef Jean's family, Andy Hilfiger's family, The American Red Cross and our special performances, including Mike Fredo.
Peter Paul was instrumental in my career almost 13 years ago, involved in making me the main model for Tommy Hilfiger. Doing campaigns, shows and appearances with big names such as Britney Spears, Beyoncé, Enrique Inglesias and many others. We celebrated his birthday with other worldwide DJ's, including Cassidy, M.O.S. and Reach with the Ocean's Eleven theme...
Look out for our mention in the new issue of Star Magazine with Johnny Depp and Angelina Jolie on the cover! Page 35, under sightings. Fridays and Saturdays are the best days to buy tables at our new venue, Amnesia NYC. Check it out... Here I am with Washington Redskins #11, Devin Thomas talking about winning a Super Bowl soon and Tyson Beckford discussing his Directorial debut.

Gossip Guy. Out and about...

As I was passing by my talent agency the other day on Broadway, I bumped into Penn Badgley, who plays caffeine addicted Poet, Dan Humphrey on the hit CW show, Gossip Girl. Him and his girlfriend, Blake Lively went on a retreat to Thailand not too long ago. I informed him that I started a mens blog and wanted to ask him a few questions; no pressure. Penn replied by asking if it was only for my blog, because he's a pretty private person. I assured him it was only information I would post personally.

JH: Hey dude, haven't seen you since my event I hosted a few weeks ago. How ya been?

PB: Yeah bro, that was a cool party. I'm just trying to stay warm. Focusing on acting and music.

JH: It's freezing out here, hope you have enough layers on and you're staying hydrated. Funny how recently at that fashion event, you didn't recognize who John Galliano was.

PB: I'm still getting familiar with the fashion world and didn't realize he was a huge designer.

JH: Looking forward to seeing what you'll wear next month, in February for Fashion Week.

PB: (Smirks) Let's see, I like to keep it simple...

JH: (Shrugs) Ok cool, I'll catch up with you then...

* I'll keep you guys posted on celebs and events leading up to Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week.

Before running into Penn, I was asked to be interviewed for a web show, wanting to know my sleep patterns. Well, I am always working and hardly ever sleep. There's way too much work to be done! I used to sleep walk when I was a kid. But guys, I must say this...in order to limit the amount of nightmares you have, don't eat heavy meals before going to bed. Trust me, have you ever had one of those dreams where you were falling off a skyscraper, straight out of that opening scene of the Mad Men TV show? That's some scary shit.

I did some research and found that under the cover of night, sleep floods your veins with age-defying human growth hormone. Sleep raises an army of T cells and sends them into battle against colds and infection. Sleep resets the appetite controls that tell you to not hit the turn signal when you pass a McDonald's. And, of course, sleep helps you above the neck as well as below the belt.

Sleep stabilizes your waking brain, makes you more alert, and allows you to process information faster. It helps you remember things and consolidate those memories. You won't get that from Red Bull.

Man, it's been a long week of work, one day of rest (sort of) and more to get done this week. I have to shoot a catalog all day tomorrow, so signing off for now and catchin' some Zzzz's...

A few good men...well dressed on the streets...

Nelson walking Valla. He is a man of many talents; acting, performing, and branding a show, DogoMan. Favorite Designer at the moment: A mix of everything with Club Monaco thrown in.

Duke, a former male model, looking dapper. Caught him carrying a one of a kind Louis Vuitton duffle bag. Favorite Designer at the moment: Tom Ford

While roaming around the city in between meetings, I met up with Ramon. He's a Fashion Consultant who likes hanging out on the Lower Eastside. Favorite Designer at the moment: Rag & Bone

Mr. President, A Leader In Style

Wow, our President is taking over the male modeling world in this WEATHERPROOF ad; taken at The Great Wall of China. Wonder how much he got paid for this? Asia is where all the money's at...

Now every guy can get some...

These Entourage billboards are everywhere; even in Times Square, there's a bunch of 'em. Adrian Grenier was named after my acting coach in LA, Vincent Chase. Mark Wahlberg paid homage to the legend and I asked Donnie Wahlberg at his birthday this past Summer at Mohegan Sun if it were true. He said yes. The Boston natives (characters are supposed to be from my hometown in Queens, NY) have the hit TV show with hot chicks, huge mansions and fast cars, on Spike TV, airing from the beginning, January 12, 2010.

Happy New Year. It's 2010 men... Make it count

Have you guys seen Rihanna on the cover of Gentlemen's Quaterly yet? Well, here it is; I must say, when I first saw this nearly nude pic, I had to do a double take. There have been many women not wearing much on GQ covers in the past, but there's something sexy about this that takes the cake. Personally, I like ladies to look innocent, but have that bad side too. Maybe I'll grow out of it one day, so until then, no goody two shoes. LoL. The article is interesting, touching on her new album, plans for 2010 and domestic violence (which is not cool; don't hit women).
